ABL Health retains prestigious Investors in People accreditation

ABL Health Gloucestershire team celebrating.

ABL Health, a leading provider of preventative healthcare services, is proud to announce that it has successfully retained its longstanding We invest in people accreditation for a further three years.

Since first achieving accreditation in 2018, ABL Health has consistently demonstrated its dedication to valuing, empowering and inspiring all employees to lead purposeful and fulfilling careers. This year’s assessment saw 228 colleagues complete the Investors in People (IiP) survey and over 30 participate in individual interviews.

In the report, the IiP assessor highlighted ABL’s:

  • Trusting and valuing culture, stating: ‘People genuinely find the organisation a good place to work’
  • Genuine commitment to being a values-driven organisation
  • Determination to continuously improve its People practices, including during periods of significant growth
  • High levels of employee satisfaction with learning and development opportunities
  • Strong sense of support with positive perceptions of line managers and senior leadership

Employees who took part in the assessment echoed these strengths, describing ABL as “People powered – it’s more than being an employee. You are a person; your opinions are valued.” Others highlighted the organisation’s inclusive culture, noting: “Compared to companies where I have worked before, it’s a whole new world. It’s safe, we are kind to one another, it’s relaxed, it’s friendly and it’s fair.”

Denise Leslie, CEO of ABL Health, said:

“Our people are the foundation of everything we do. At ABL Health, our community-driven services transform health outcomes and reduce inequalities across the UK – so it’s vitally important we support and empower the very individuals who make what we do possible. Retaining our IiP and Disability Confident Leader accreditations reaffirms our deep commitment to our people, who change lives within ABL and beyond.”

Mike Taylor, Head of People and Culture at ABL Health, added:

“We are delighted to once again achieve IiP accreditation for a further three years. As a People Powered business, investing in the growth and development of our colleagues is central to our success. Through our People and Culture Plan, we remain committed to building on the great work already being done, ensuring that every member of our team can thrive and contribute to the Bold, Effective services we deliver.”

In addition to retaining IiP status, ABL Health also re-accredited as a Disability Confident Leader earlier this year – the highest level of recognition in the UK Government’s Disability Confident Scheme. This achievement recognises the company as a leading champion of disability inclusion, actively removing barriers and creating a workforce where every individual is valued and recognised for their unique talents. Together, the two accreditations demonstrate ABL’s values in action and its belief that people flourish most when they feel respected, listened to and supported.
